'L'Éléphant'.
Jean-Philippe Dugand was born in 1965 in Lyon. He tried his hand at several artistic studies (Fine Arts, Graphic Arts) and made his debut in the French alternative comics scene. Using the pen name X-90, he joined the publishing label Les Requins Marteaux, through which he published several comics about superhero animals. These include three books of 'L'Eléphant' (1996-2000) and two of 'Les Nouvelles Aventures de Girafe' (2001-2004, with Olivier Texier). He also contributed to the first issues of the review Ferraille.
Dugand teamed up with Didier Poiraud to write the script of 'Atomik Circus', a feature film released in 2004, starring Vanessa Paradis and Benoît Poelvoorde. He then started working on the thriller series 'District 77', which he wrote for artist Denys at Le Lombard between 2006 and 2009.
