Elizabeth Durack was an Australian artist and writer, who often worked with aboriginal themes. She and her sister, writer and historian Mary Durack, were educated at the Loreto Convent in Perth, and on the Kimberley cattle strations Argyle and Ivanhoe, where they established a friendship with the Mirriuwong-Gajerrong people of the Ord River region. She has worked with her sister on 'Nungalla and Jungalla' in 1942-43, a comic strip dealing with aboriginal legends. A collection of their comic work was published in a comic book by Consolidated Press, 'A Book of Picture Stories'. Since 1946 she has had several exhibitions of her work.
