Pat the Brat by Joe Edwards

Joe Edwards was one of the mainstays at Archie Comics, and has worked at the company from the 1940s through the 1980s. Edwards got his artistic educations at Rome Academy and at the Hastings Animation School. He began his career in the late 1930s, working through the Demby Studios. After doing some funny animal stuff for Dell and Timely, he joined Archie Comics around 1942. His earliest contributions were to titles like 'Judge Owl's Fables', 'Squoimy the Woim', 'Bumbie' and 'Cubby the Bear'.

Just like Dan DeCarlo, Sam Schwartz and Bob Montana, he eventually went to work on the comic books with the 'Archie' characters, but also 'Pat the Brat', an Archie-style variation of Hank Ketcham's 'Dennis the Menace'. Up until the 1980s, Edwards worked with the main 'Archies', but also on 'Super Duck', 'Captain Sprocket' and his own creation, 'Li'l Jinx'.
