Stéphane Mathieu, also known as Emesse, started out creating the fanzine Sang-froiD with his high school buddy Ced. The duo was later joined by Jocker, with whom they published six issues of the fanzine De Bric et de Broc in 2000-2001. Main stars in the pages of the fanzine were the three authors themselves, accompanied by a llama called Serge. Several comic books with the characters were later self-published through Zanes Production.
