Martin Emond was a New Zealand cartoonist and painter. In the early stages of his career he illustrated 'White Trash', a satirical journey through the USA written by Gordon Rennie for Blast! magazine. The comic was also collected in graphic novels published by Tundra Press. He co-created 'Accident Man' with Pat Mills for Toxic, worked on several 'Lobo' titles with Alan Grant, had work published in Heavy Metal, and did a 48-page issue of 'The Punisher' with Gordon Rennie. Among his best known characters are street kid 'Switchblade' and the girl gag 'Rolling Red Knuckles'. Emond designed several covers for Glenn Danzig's 'Verotik' line and his illustrations were used extensively as screenprints for the streetwear clothing label Illicit. In 2004 Martin Emond committed suicide in Los Angeles, California. He was only 33 years old.
