Fernand Fau was a late 19th- and early 20th-century French illustrator. He was born in Poitiers in 1858. His work appeared among others in Chat Noir, the magazine of the literary cabaret that started in 1883. He has also published in Le Rire and drew for the picture story prints of the Imagerie Quantin in Paris. Fau illustrated a lot of children's books throughout his career. He died in Paris in 1919.
