Le Portrait de Vermillonard (Ma Récréation, 1912)
Henri Ferran was an early French comic artist. He contributed picture stories to the newspaper Ma Dimanche (1906), the magazines La Jeudi de la Jeunesse (1905), Surprise-Journal (J. Rueff, 1907) and Ma Récréation (Bottereau, 1910-14), as well as Le Journal Comique, the short-lived supplement to newspaper Le Journal in 1909. He also contributed to Lisette in the 1920's.
Story from La Jeudi de la Jeunesse (1905)
He was present in Pierrot magazine and its companion title Guignol, both published by Petit Echo de la Mode in the 1930's. During this period, his signature also appeared in the Belgian magazine Stella, published by P. L. Robberechts in Averbode, for which he designed the title header, among other things.
Ferran's art was featured in the book 'Petites Images Amusantes d'Épinal', a collection of the Images d'Épinal series by the publishing house Pellerin (date unknown).
