Our Boarding House, by Bill Freyse
'Our Boarding House'.

Bill Freyse graduated from the Central High School of Detroit. He began his career at the Detroit Times as a editorial cartoonist and entertainment page cartoonist. He had his big break when he was assigned to continue Gene Ahern's 'Our Boarding House' strip, starring Major Hoople, succeeding Bela Zaboly in 1939. Freyse was able to perfectly continue the strip with the same quality as Ahern did. Freyse's scriptwriter was William M. Braucher (1896-1958). Freyse drew 'Our Boarding House' until his death in 1969, whereupon the series was continued by Les Carroll and Tom McCormick.
