Fin de Chaine by Michel Galvin
Fin de Chaîne

Michel Galvin was born in Montreuil, and got his interest in comics by reading Pilote magazine. He studied Fine Arts in Paris, and began a career as a graphic designer, illustrator and painter. His work has appeared in such magazines as Libération, Les Inrockuptibles, Elle, Télérama and Phosphore. He eventually dropped painting, and started working for the children's book publishers like Le Seuil.

He also picked up comics again; Galvin had already drawn a comic book called 'En 1789, Nicolas de Montreuil' in 1988. He started out with two books of 'Les semi-aventures des Hommes-rats', which he made under the pen name Wolfgang Placard, for Lito in 2006. With Éditions Thierry Magnier, he subsequently published a book about a polar bear, called 'Routine' in 2007. And this was followed by the somewhat surrealistic and graphically experimental books 'Fin de Chaîne' and 'West Terne' at Sarbacane in 2009 and 2011.
