Krzysztof Gawronkiewicz is a graphic designer, comic artist and storyboard artist from Warsaw, Poland. He is a graduate from the School of Plastic Arts, and has also studied both Interior Art and Graphic Arts at the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw. He made his debut as an artist in 1988, illustrating stories and an occasional comic strip in the science fiction magazine Fantastyka. While with this magazine, he met scriptwriter Maciej Parowski, with whom he made the comic 'Burza' ('The Tempest').

He began an association with scriptwriter Dennis Wojda in 1992, with whom he created the comic series 'Mikropolis', which appeared regularly in Kelvin & Celsjusz magazine in 1994. The series -inspired by David Lynch, German Expressionism and low-budget horrors - has been hailed as one of Poland's most important comics ever. 'Achtung Zelig!', Gawronkiewicz's graphic novel in collaboration with Krystian Rosenberg was published in 2004, although the first installments had been published in the comics magazine Jabber back in 1993.

He worked with writer Grzegorz Janusz on the comical series starring the detectives Otto and Watson. The script for the first story, 'Esencja', won the first prize in an international contest held by the French publishing house Glénat in 2003. This publishing house released two books starring this mix of the humor, horror and detective genres as 'Les extravagantes enquêtes d'Otto et Watson' in 2005 and 2007. It was also published in Polish as 'Przebiegłe dochodzenie Ottona i Watsona' by Mandragora.

Work by Krzysztof Gawronkiewicz has additionally appeared in the pages of BRUM (1995), Nowa Fantastyka, Gazeta Wyborcza, Ślizg (1998), Komiks Forum, Plastik (1999), AQQ, Arena Komiks, Klatka vs. Lekarstwo, Wprost, Click!, Aktivist, DosDedos, Fluid, Meble, and The Cut By Levi's (2008).
