António Jorge Gonçalves, a Portuguese comic artist, made his debut in the periodical Se7e in the 1980s. The originality of his style was already visible in his debut comic 'Liboa, de Táxi', a story about the memories of a cab driver in Lisbon. Gonçalves proved to be a master of wordless comics, like in his series 'O Senhor Abílio'. His desire to create abstract and poetic pages made his work less suitable for a mainstream public. Probably his most famous creation is the detective series 'Filipe Seems', of which three episodes have appeared.
