Esther González, also known as Esther Glez, is a Spanish digital illustrator and comic artist. Since 2017, she has published the autobiographical humor strip 'Miss Pad Thai' on her social media channels.
Life and career
Esther González was born in 1986 in the northern Spanish region of Cantabria. Between 2004 and 2008, she had her education in Fine Arts from the University of Basque Country (UPV/EHU). She later relocated to Barcelona, where she has been working as a digital artist, specializing in 2D illustration and concept art. After a job as illustrator and graphic designer for the online travel agency Exoticca, she has been a self-employed advertising illustrator and concept artist.

In her spare time, González gives intimate and humorous insights into her everyday life through her webcomic 'Miss Pad Thai' (2017- ), the title based on a nickname the artist was given while visiting Thailand. Sharing the more awkward moments in the life of a young woman in one to four-panel strips on her social media accounts, more than 100K followers have discovered instant recognizability in her work. With her self-aware and spicy humor, she makes comic strips about living with her boyfriend, the loud and drunken shamelessness of a girls' night out and the more cringeworthy moments of everyday life. In her "expectations versus reality" cartoons, she humorously tackles subjects like self-esteem and human imperfection with honesty and self-mockery.
Her 'Miss Pad Thai' comic strips have been highlighted on websites like ComicSenz and Bored Panda, and published in Spanish book collections Random Comics: 'La Vida Siendo una Intensa' (2021) and 'Living la Vida Sola' (2022).
