'Ernie' (Herald Sun, Australia, 23 April 2009).
Bud Grace got his doctorate in physics in 1971 at the Florida State University. However, after working as a nuclear physicist for a while, Grace chose for a career in comics in 1979. He was a freelance cartoonist for some major magazines before starting his 'Ernie' comic on 1 February 1988, distributed by King Features.
In 1998, 'Ernie' was later renamed 'The Piranha Club'. The series is especially popular in the Scandinavian countries Sweden and Norway, where it appears in a bi-monthly comic book called 'Ernie'. It is also one of the most popular comic strips regularly published in newspapers in Estonia and Latvia. The series ran for decades, until it was discontinued on 3 February 2018.
Grace also drew the 'Babs and Aldo' comic strip under the pseudonym Buddy Valentine.
