Pluto, by Bob Grant

Bob Grant was one of the classic Disney artists, who mainly worked on Disney comics for the daily press. From 1939 to 1940, he drew the 'Pluto' Sunday page. Afterwards, he took on the 'Little Hiawatha' Sunday comic. All these Sunday pages appeared under the name 'Silly Symphonies'. From 1947 to 1962, he drew the 'Walt Disney's Merry Menagerie' cartoon series. Bob Grant drew the daily 'Scamp' comic from 1956 to 1962 and from 1965 to 1968. He also drew funny animal comics for Dell/Western in the early 1950s, and later for ACG/Creston.

One of Grant's illustrations starring Mickey Mouse and Donald Duck was the inspiration for Roy Lichtenstein's piece 'Look Mickey!' (1961).
