Catalan artist Francisco Guinovart was a designer and publicist, who began his career working for La Prensa. He then joined Toray publishers and eventually contributed series like 'Andrómeda' and 'Mañana, el Universo' to the comic magazine Trinca in the 1970s. In Spain, his work has been published in Fulgor ('La Vida es Aventura'), Chito, Claro de Luna and Gaceta Junior. He was mainly active for foreign publishers through Josep Toutain's Selecciones Ilustradas agency. He drew among others the feature 'World Zoo' for the UK magazine Space Age.
