Christophe Hanze studied at the Institut Saint-Luc in Brussels, specializing in comics. He was the artistic director of an advertising agency for four years. He became an independent illustrator in 1992, and he collaborated on several magazines of the publishing house Averbode (Tremplin, Bonjour, I.D. Magazine) and on the children's book of Rainbow Graphics. He began the series 'Robert et les Monstres' with writer Jean-Luc Cornette at Casterman publishers in 1997. Again with Cornette, he created 'Le Fantôme de Canterville' in 2003.
