'Gundala'.
Hasmi is an Indonesian artist from Yogyakarta. He is the creator of the classic Indonesian superhero 'Gundulu' (1969), published by Ketjana Agung Publishing. The comic, about a student who becomes a superhero after being struck by lightning, is strongly inspired by American comics, but also has strong references to Indonesias culture. A movie with the character was made in 1983, and more recently, the character was revived for another 'Gundala' film (2009).
