Max Hattinga Verschure was born in 1947 in Nijmegen and was active as a cartoonist and comic artist in Amsterdam in the 1970s. He created several comic stories that were critical of the social structure for Folia Civitatis, the publication of the University of Amsterdam (1972-1973), and Samenspel (1973). He works as lawyer in The Hague since 1973.
