Art Helfant was an American gag artist. His work appeared as back-up and filler comics in several comic books of the 1940s and 1950s, such as 'Young King Cole', 'Billy the Kid Adventure Magazine', 'John Wayne Adventure Comics' and 'Wonder Woman'. Other artists who made comics based on John Wayne were Ben Brown and Al Williamson.Among his characters are 'Timid Tim', 'Boitram the Boiglar' and 'Heathcliff the Hobo'.
