Hwang Mi-na is a female Korean comic artist, who started her career in 1980 with 'The Blue Star of Ionie', published in Sonyeo Sidae. She contributed to the expansion of female comics in Korea with several comics about romances. She founded Nine magazine in 1985, a literary comic magazine. Unlike other female artists, Hwang Mi-na used Korea itself as the setting of her stories.
