José Ángel Labari Ilundain, who publishes under his initials Jali, was born in Pamplona and is a graduate in Fine Arts from the University of Barcelona. He is an artist for the daily Diario de Navarra and also active as a graphic artist. Since 1997, he has contributed to fanzines and magazines like Amaniaco, La Comictiva, Mala Impresión and La Guía del Cómic.
He formed the collective Los Muñecos de Fimosis with Ricardo Peregrina and Valentín Ponsa, with whom he made works like 'Necrópolis' and 'Enciclopedia Ilustrada del Professor Perez Pucio'. Later credits include 'Billete de Ida al Espacio' (Ediciones Amaniaco, 1998), 'Igor Mortis' (Undercomic, 2000), 'El Niño Miope' (Ediciones D2ble D2sis, 2002) and 'A Berta le Atormenta la Tormenta' (Ediciones D2ble D2sis, 2003). He is also a contributor to Tapa Roja since 2003.
