Cartoons for Opinions of May 1970, about the U.S. invasion of Cambodia. The man in the first panel with a turning wheel on his back is U.S. President Richard Nixon.
Jali was a late-20th century Belgian cartoonist, who worked for the Communist bulletin Opinions at the turn of the 1960s into the 1970s. He should not be confused with the Spanish cartoonist Jali.
Life and career
Virtually nothing is known about the supposedly Belgian cartoonist Jali. Around 1970, his or her drawings and comic strips appeared in Opinions, the bulletin of the communist department of the Public Centre for Social Welfare in Liège (CPAS de Liège). Other cartoonists for this local publication were Lecram and Schroeder.
