Marcello Jori was born in Merano and lives and works in Bologna. Early in his career, he took part in expisitions in Italy and abroad. From the late 1970s, he made comics for magazines like Alter Alter, Linus, Frigidaire, Alter and L'Écho des Savanes, becoming one of the main representatives of the "Nuovo Fumetto Italiano" trend. Also a writer, he published his first novel, 'Il Giornalino di Gigi Tempesta' with Baldini and Castoldi in 1996. Other works followed, such as 'Nonna Picassa', published by Mondadori in 2000.
