Éric Joris is a comic book, visual artist and stage artist from Antwerp, Belgium. He has studied film, fine arts, economics, German and French language and industrial design in Antwerp, Paris, Cambridge and Tokyo. Joris is the artist of the comic series 'Chelsy', that was written by Jean Dufaux and published in two books by Glénat in 1990 and 1992. His comic 'Les Cuisiniers Dangereux' was created in cooperation with several Belgian book and film writers and published as supplements of the magazine Knack.
He has been experimenting with digital media and internet since an early stage, and has participated in online projects like Kaufhaus Inferno. Since 2000, he has focused on stage art and the innovative use of multimedia. He founded the collective CREW, that operates on the dividing line between science and art. Eric Joris won the Bronzen Adhemar, a Belgian comics prize, in 1993.
