Ricardo Garcia Lopez, who used the pseudonym K-Hito, was the founder and director of four magazines, among which Dígame. In these magazines, he created several characters who became famous in Spain, like 'Gutiérrez', 'Macaco', 'Currinche' and 'Don Turulato'.
'Macaco' started out as the title character for the magazine of the same name in 1928. When the magazine folded in 1930, the strip was transfered to Macaquete and the feature changed from gag strip to continuity strip. K-Hito's comics were always gentle in both writing and artwork.
