Dale Keown began his professional career at the Canadian publishing house Aircel, where he worked on such titles as 'Samurai', 'DragonRing' and 'DragonForce' from 1986 to 1989. He then joined Marvel, where he became the regular artist of 'The Hulk' (issues 367 to 398). In 1993, he created a new series, 'The Pitt', at Image Comics. He drew the title until 1999, and did a 'Hulk Vs. Pitt' crossover in 1997.

Keown did a fill-in 'Superman' story at DC in 2000, and took on 'Hulk: The End' in 2002. He began working on 'The Darkness' at Image/Top Cow in 2001. In 2005 he started working on a 'Pitt/Darkness' crossover with Paul Jenkins. By 2009 he was the regular artist on 'Berserker' for Top Cow Productions.
