Mike Kok is a Dutch comic artist and illustrator, who works in a manga style. His comics career began during his studies at the Delft University of Technology, when he began the small-press comic magazine Chaos with Jack Broeders and Dirk-Jan Hoek. Mike has published a great variety of illustrations and cartoons for anime and manga magazines, like Yamage, FaniManga, AnimeniA and AniWay. He is a freelance comic artist and illustrator for the youth magazine Pauze.
His best known character is 'Magical Farmgirl Marieke', the mascot of the J-Pop Foundation and its annual manga and anime convention. In 2001, he published the comic 'Suck me Zizi', together with the Belgian artist Steven de Rie. His daytime jobs include working for Internet pioneers Zappwerk (later Total Active Media) and the art department of Nike Europe.
