Doc Strange, by Alex Kostuk

Alex Kostuk got his education at the Cooper Union. He was the original of Standard Comics' 'Doc Strange', that first appeared in Thrilling #1 in 1940. He signed this comic, scripted by Richard Hughes, with Alex Koster. He assisted on the backgrounds of the syndicated 'Spirit' comic in the early 1940s. He worked on comic books through the Beck-Costanza Studio in the mid-1940s, drawing among others Fawcett's 'Captain Marvel'. In the late 1940s, he worked for Eastern Color Printing, contributing to Heroic Comics and New Heroic. He has also assisted and ghosted on syndicated strips like 'Joe Jinks' and 'Bringing Up Father'.
