Isabel Kreitz began her career at the Fachhochschule für Gestaltung in Hamburg. Soon she got bored and decided to move to New York to study at Parsons School of Design. There she took a course 'How to draw comics the Marvel way' by Ken Landgraf. Kreitz became fascinated by this medium, and after her study she moved back to Hamburg, where she started drawing for the popular German comic strip 'Ottifanten', published in the Hamburger Morgenpost.

After that, Kreitz published her own comic strip, 'Heiss und Fettig'. In 1997, Kreitz won the German Comic Award. Her other works are 'Schlechte Laune', 'Ohne Peilung', 'Totenstil', 'Ralf lebt!', 'Die Entdeckung der Currywurst' and 'Waffenhändler'.
