Lusmore Dauda (also known as simply Lusmore) draws inspiration from social realities, and has his artwork featured in educational projects and awareness campaigns. He has kept travel diaries from his trips to Latin America and West Africa, where he has lived for several years. Born as David García De Extabe in Palma de Mallorca, he started out publishing his work in fanzines, alternative reviews and self-published comix from age 16. He self-published several mini-comics in the Spanish alternative scene between 1992 and 1994.
He has done illustrations for discs and music videos, and has worked on several films and other multimedia projects. Initially inspired by artists like Frans Masereel, the "multimedia illusionist" Lusmore eventually developed his own black-and-white style for his African-inspired paintings and mainly social anarchist comics, such as his 1993 comic about poverty and repression in Peru. Since 2000, as Lusmore Dauda, he has worked with colors, paint and decorations in his artwork for non-governmental organizations like Amnesty International, the Lumières d'Afrique festival, Peace with Dignity, OAfrica, Medina Ecologique, Lupita Mundi and SOS Racism.
