'Louis Ferdinand Quincampoix'. 

Renaud Mader, pen name Mad, spent his childhood in Toulouse and Paris, and arrived at the French colonial isle of La Réunion in 1984. There, he participated in the launch of the comic magazine Le Cri du Margouillat, and made illustrations for Le Quotidien. He returned to Paris in 1987 and studied at the CFT Gobelins. He went to work in animation, among others for Gaumont and Disney France, in 1990. He additionally drew for magazines like Circus and Spirou. In 1991-92, he published three albums at Vents d'Ouest, 'Louis Ferdinand Quincampoix', with scriptwriter Apollo. Mader also launched a series of collective albums called 'Sept Histoires de...' for Vents d'Ouest.

Renaud Mader died in a Parisian hotel room in the spring of 1993. He was only 23.
