Fault Lines (from This Side That Side: Restorying Partition)
Prabha Mallya is a US-based Indian illustrator, writer and comic artist. She grew up in Goa between the trees and temples, and moved to Rajasthan at age 17 to study Mechanical Engineering at BITS-Pilani. She later studied Visual Communication Design at IIT Kanpur, and then Illustration at Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD). Since then, she has worked as an illustrator for books, comics, maps and other print publications.
Her comics and illustrations have appeared in magazines like Current Conservation, IQ, Brainwave and ELLE, as well as the comics section 'The Small Picture' of the Indian financial paper Mint. She has contributed to anthologies like 'This Side That Side: Restorying Partition' (Yoda Press), ' The Obliterary Journal Vol 2' (Blaft) and the Manta Ray series 'TWELVE'. She is the author of 'The Alphabet of Animals and Birds', a book of illustrated collective nouns she wrote and illustrated. She lives in Stanford, California.
