'Gros Magnon'.

Mario Malouin is a artist, publisher, editor, distributor and writer and due to all these activities, one of the few artists that can actually make a living from comics in Quebec. He began his career at age 15 in the weeklies L'Appel and Rond-Point, for which he created his first character, 'Gros Magnon'. He launched the magazine B.D. Plouf in 1974, and this magazine ran for two years. In 1984, he made his album debut with 'Une Saison Dans La Vie d'Arthur Leroy', a comics parody of radio personality André Arthur. He was also present in the magazine Pare-Chocs. He was among the first artists of the magazine Safarir in 1987, and began a collaboration with the weekly 7 Jours in 1992. There, Malouin drew the television parody 'Le Monde Du Spectacle' (later retitled to 'Le Monde de la Télé'). In 1993, he drew 'Le Bobo' in Zeppelin. He remained one of the principal contributors to Safarir, for which he created among others 'Les P'tits Montres', 'Les Aventures d'Alphonse', 'Grokon le Monstre', 'Guerre... Épais', 'Drôlement Piquant' and 'Au Pied du Grand Totem'.
