The illustrations of Louis Malteste have been featured on theater posters, in crime novels and adventure/travel magazines (La Côte d'Azur). He worked for satirical magazines like Le Rire, as well as La Caricature. He contributed to the picture story prints of the Imagerie Quantin in Paris (a.o. 'Le Secret du Docteur', 'La Sobriété d'Ibrahim'). He is best known for his erotic work, in which spanking women are a recurring theme. Under the pseudonym Jacques d'Icy, he wrote and illustrated erotic books like 'Qui aime Bien... chatie bien' and 'Paulette Trahie'.
