'Fuss Pott'.
Norman Arthur Mansbridge was born in Wanstead, Essex, as the son of illustrator Arthur Mansbridge. He attended Heatherley's School of Art in London and spent his first professional years working in advertising. He contributed his first drawing to Punch in 1937.
'Wear 'Em Out Wolf'.
During World War II, he served in the Auxiliary Fire Service and was a radio officer in the merchant navy. Back in civil life, he went back to his artistic profession and became a contributor to Punch, Lilliput, The News Chronicle, The Sunday Times, The Daily Sketch and The Birmingham Post.
'Buster'.
Starting in the late 1960s, Mansbridge's work appeared in the comic weeklies of IPC and Fleetway. Among his features are 'Teacher's Pet' (in Corr!), 'Mummy's Boy' (in Monster Fun and Buster Comic), 'Tough Nutt and Softly Centre' (in Shiver & Shake), 'Autograph Albert' (in Tiger) and 'Wear'em Out Wilf' (in Whizzer & Chips). One of his best known and longest running comics was 'Fuss Pot' (1971-2000), serialized in various IPC and Fleetway titles.
