Nikola Maslovara was born in 1946 in Odzaci, West-Backa. He graduated from the Novi Sad art school in 1972. Masli has published caricatures since 1969 and comic books since 1972. He has lived in Milanovac since 1979, where he worked as a art editor for the children's publications of Dečje Novine. His comics have appeared in magazines like Politikin zabavnik, Biser strip, Strip zabavnik, Yu strip and Gigant. Among his comic characters are 'Detektiv Lakonogic', 'Fijuksi', 'Ungl-gungl', 'Mrka' and 'Barba Plima'.
During the 1980s, he also worked extensively on licensed comic properties like 'Il Grande Blek', Hanna-Barbera 's 'Tom & Jerry', Friz Freleng's 'Pink Panther' and Walt Disney's 'Mickey Mouse'. He was also part of the art team of the comic book series 'Yupi Stars' in 1988. He has exhibited his work in many major Yugoslav comic and cartoon expositions.
