Gertie O'Grady (Los Angeles Times, 23/5/1943)

Paul McCarthy was the artist of the Sunday comic strip 'Gertie O'Grady', that was distributed to US newspapers through the Chicago Tribune- New York News Syndicate between 1940 and 1943. The companion strip was 'Silly-Ettes'. In the mid 1950s, he was one of the artists hired by Harvey Comics to draw the 'Sad Sack' comic book, based on George Baker's newspaper comic. Other features he drew for Harvey Comics were 'Fun at the Zoo' and 'Holly of Hollywood'.
