Barbara McClintock grew up in Clinton, NJ and North Dakota. She is the award-winning creator of such children's books as 'Animal Fables from Aesop', 'The Fantastic Drawings of Danielle', and 'The Gingerbread Man'. She is one of the contributors to the comic book series 'Little Lit', edited by Françoise Mouly and Art Spiegelman. She contributed to 'Little Lit: Folklore & Fairy Tale Funnies' (2000), 'Little Lit: Strange Stories for Strange Kids' (2001) and 'Little Lit: It Was A Dark and Silly Night' (2003). She now lives in New Canaan, CT, with her son, Larson, and their pets: a cat and a fish.
She should not be confused with U.S. scientist and Nobel Prize laureate Barbara McClintock (1902-1992).
