Tarzan (1989)

Petar Meseldzija was born in Novi Sad, Serbia, in 1965. He graduated from the Academy of Arts in Novi Sad. He began his career in 1981, publishing the comic strip 'Krampi' in Stripoteka. This was followed by his work on the licensed 'Tarzan' series under the guidance of Bane Kerac. Another comic by Meseldzija is the unpublished viking comic 'Kanoo'. In 1991 he illustrated his first book, 'Peter Enkorak'.

He moved to The Netherlands at the end of 1991, and currently resides in Koog aan de Zaan. He stopped making comics and dedicated himself completely to fantasy illustration and painting. During the 1990s he painted 120 posters and greeting cards for a Dutch publisher. He painted 10 book covers for children's fantasy literature published by Scholastic. In 2010 he published his book 'The Legend of Steel Bashew', a contemporary retelling of a classic Serbian folktale. A limited collection of his 'Tarzan' stories was published by Dark Dragon Books in 2013. Dark Dragon also released an art book with his work.
