Johanna Bernardina Midderigh-Bokhorst illustrated children's books like 'Het Boek van St. Nicolaas' during the 1920s and 1930s. She also illustrated several books in the collection 'Voor School en Huis', with rhymes by Anna Sutorius, and books in the collection 'Voor 't Kleine Volkje' with texts by S. Gruys Kruseman. She was an illustrator for the children's magazine Zonneschijn. She was one of the teachers of illustrator Mies Deinum.
