Life and career
Atilio Millán operates from Avellaneda, a port city in the province of Buenos Aires. From 2006 on, he has worked for many years through the now-defunct Blue Image studio in Buenos Aires, together with Francisco Luque and Marcelo Melillo. Blue Image specialized in commercial art, (web) animations and other graphic solutions, and also produced artwork for activity books and merchandising with licensed characters (Mickey Mouse, Tom & Jerry, Scooby Doo).
Since 2007-2008, he has worked extensively on commercial comics, illustrations and animated shorts for the Dutch market through Stefan de Groot's Striptekenaars.nl and Piet Zeeman's Striptekenaar.info agencies. Millán, for instance, illustrated the daily funny animal web comic 'Fondsie & Friends' (2009), which promoted the charity fund of Dutch radio station 3FM. In later years, he has worked on animated music videos for children's songs in Django Music & Publishing's Minidisco line, based on original character designs by Dirk Arend. He does most of his commercial work for the Dutch market in collaboration with Ruben Daniel Hernandez.
