Born in Tokyo, Ryouji Minagawa made his debut with 'Heaven' in the Weekly Shonen Sunday. His first big success was 'Spriggan', a manga created from 1991 and 1996. After the 'KYO' series and a one-shot comic, Minagawa began the 'ARMS' series in 1997. The series ended in 2002 after 22 episodes. His 'Spriggan' and 'ARMS' series have both been adapted for respectively the cinema and television.
Ryouji Minagawa was an influence on Hajime Isayama.
