Ali Moulay graduated from the School of Fine Arts in Algiers, and subsequently attended the ENSAD School of Decorative Arts in Paris. He is best-known for his comic about the Barbarian hero 'Jughurta', that he created with scriptwriter Bouzidi in 1990. It was followed by 'Imazighen, les hommes libres' and the romance book 'Coup de foudre et Les amours d'Arezki' (2002).
Moulay has illustrated dozens of children's books for several publishing houses, and he works as an artist for papers and magazines like Liberté, Es-Sahara and Liberté-économie. He is also co-founder of the comics tabloid Love Mag with Abdelkrim Beneddine.
