Striker by Pete Nash
'Striker' (1986).

Pete Nash is a former Fleet Street journalist and comic strip author. He created the very popular football comic strip 'Striker', about Nick Jarvis of the fictional Thamesford Football Club (and later the Warbury Warriors). The strip has run in The Sun since November 1985, with the exception of the 2003-2005 and 2009-2013 periods. Initially a black-and-white strip, Nash turned to a 3D-rendered format in the late 1990s, which even caused Nash to rename it 'Striker 3D'. Between 2003 and 2005, the character had its own magazine, and in 2010 it appeared as a full-page strip in the weekly magazine Nuts. Since 2013, Nash has been making new 'Striker' episodes for The Sun in cooperation with 3D artist Simon Ravenhill.
