Mei-ing Nieuwland draws in a manga style. In 2005, she participated in a contest held by Aniway magazine. She became second and her contribution was published in the 'Fanthology' pocket. She is a member of the amateur manga collective Cheesecake! Studio and makes illustrations and cartoons on a freelance base. Nieuwland has also contributed to the small press comic magazine De Lijn.
