Nicolae Nobilescu is a Romanian illustrator and comic book artist. He was one of the few artists who could make a living out of illustrating alone during the country's communist era. Born in Bucharest, he published his first drawing in Universul Copiilor at the age of 8. He made caricatures for the Constructorul paper while fulfilling his military service at the slipway of the Danube-Black Sea canal.
