Ernest Noble was a British illustrator of humorous postcards during the 1910s and 1920s. He was born in 1881 in Stoke Newington as the son of a Quaker minister. In the 1920s, he also made a newspaper strip called 'The 80 Adventures of Robbie Crusoe', which was translated into Dutch as 'De Tachtig Avonturen van Robbie Crusoe' and appeared as a newspaper comic. The story revolved around a captain (Hendrik Waterman in the Dutch version) and his cabin boy Robbie Crusoe.
