Cicci e il Marziano (Bambolik #4, 1960)
Giuseppe Orliani (Nino for friends) was an Italian comic book artist. He was a refugee from Istria, and his Slavic surname was Orlich. He studied at the drama school in Rome, and lived in Monte Sacro, near Rome, where he managed a post office.
He moved ot Pisa after his wife died, and from there, he assisted Luigi Roveri on his comic book and illustration work. They illustrated several books with stories by Alberto Manzi and Gianni Rodari, that were published by Rino Fabbri. They also worked for the publishers Cerretti and Sigurd Sandvik in Norway, and the comic book Miao.
Mondo Perduto (Collana Cesarino)
Orliani later moved on to work for publishers like Gabriele Gioggi. He contributed to titles like Jimmy Colt and Bambolik, for which his most enduring character was the girl 'Cicci' in the 1960s. He also made comic parodies of classics like 'Treasure Island' and 'The Lost World' for the Edifumetto collection Collana Cesarino in the mid-1970s (scripts by Giuseppe Pederiali).
