Ludovic Ouali followed several studies, but eventually moved to Rennes in 1994, where he began a career in comics. His first pages appeared in Gotham magazine in December 1995, followed by several jobs for the publishing houses Atlas and Fleurus. 'Les Larmes d'Ostasis', his first album, appeared at Soleil in 1999. Soon, he started a second series, 'L'Alkaest'.
