Mary Park, also known as Murrz, is a California-based graphic designer and cartoonist, best-known for her slice-of-life webcomics about the everyday relationship and life struggles of a millennial.
Background
Originally from Los Angeles, Mary Park knew she wanted to be an artist from an early age. Between 2010 and 2013, she attended Otis College of Art and Design in Los Angeles, studying Digital Communication and Multimedia. A Bachelor of Arts, she has been working as a graphic designer in digital media since graduation, specializing in visual design, branding, product development and 3D.

Murrz comics
In her spare time, Park has been creating webcomics about her daily life, using the pen name "Murrz" (which she explained is basically her first name pronounced very quickly). Although she is self-taught as an artist, important inspirations for her own comics are webcomics like Fishball's 'My Giant Nerd Boyfriend', Dami Lee's 'As Per Usual' and Cho Seok's 'Sound Of Your Heart'. Active on Instagram and Facebook since 2016 and a featured creator on Webtoons between 2018 and 2022, her comics deal with the day to day funny things of a young woman with her cats and her boyfriend. With hilarious visualizations of relatable situations, Murrz's comics deal with generation gaps, getting older and the ideal picture versus reality of relationships. At times, her comics offer a more serious or supportive message, for instance, the ones about dealing with anxiety or social awkwardness.
